We had a few play dates together with your first when we were both on mat leave. I'm now up-to-date having not been able to stop reading this! Firstly massive congratulations on the arrival of Ally! I bet she's adorable. As for everything else, jeeez life can just be so shit! You keep fighting and now that gorgeous Ally is born and breathing on her own (bless her) you give voldertit everything you've got! Although it doesn't even compare you might remember life kind of knocked me down when I had Ella....I learned you just never give up. Thinking of you xxxxx

  28. Wow, what a decision to make and so glad your beautiful daughter is well. My little girl was born at 30 weeks and 2lb 7 - she's now nearly three and you'd never know. NICUs are weird places to start with but remember two things - the alarms go off all the time, if the nurses aren't worried, you shouldn't be. Also, don't be shy about asking to hold your baby - I guess you might both have wires & tubes to contend with but lots of hugs will really help you both.
Time to concentrate on you now, draw on that amazing inner strength that mum's have and focus on getting better. This blog's about to get really popular too which I hope will help. Best of luck and Happy Christmas to you all, sending much love

  31. Congratulations on your new arrival. I'm a fellow bristolian though now living in California, and saw your news on the BBCwebsite. I too have been diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer, two years ago in Nov 2013. I do remember feeling so frustrated and scared that my BC was so rare. I just wanted to send my hugs from LA. It's feels such a long journey of treatment but now I'm through it all and my hair is back, I have new boobs, flat tum (I had diep reconstruction) and I feel fabulous.
