Ally and Me

So here is our beautiful daughter Ally Louise Smith. She's doing so well and kicking arse. We've changed her little bum and I cuddled her for so long last night that I almost peed myself as I couldn't bare to put her back in her green house.
All the staff comment on how long she is, as we don't say tall when we are lying down, right. She is very long.
We've completed our family and feel so lucky to have little Ally join us. Xxx

Sorry photos aren't loading. Trying my best to rectify this xx

I came across your story and just wanted to encourage you. In Dec 2003, I gave birth to twin 28-weekers, and had a 3- and 5-yr old. I DIDN'T also have to battle cancer. So, our stories are a little different. Every NICU journey is different, yet one in the same. There will be setbacks and celebrations. And finally, discharge day will come (and then it really gets scary if you have to bring Ally home on monitors). For 2 years, we had major set backs and sometimes more steps backward than forward. But, I am standing here today with two young ladies who are miracles. They are smart and sweet. But, because of their fight in the NICU, they embrace life and face each day with zeal. I believe that their fight for life in the NICU has taught them to go after what they want, as well as given them an appreciation for having the gift of life. I want to encourage you to face each day with courage as does your tiny, sweet Ally. You are a fighter / survivor, and she is too! Don't let the setbacks take you down or out. I wish you Godspeed through this trial in your life. Hugs from across the ocean, Kristi

Heidi, so pleased to see the photo of Ally, she's gorgeous. She's also a fighter, just like her fabulous mum, every good wish and hope to you both. You are doing so much to publicise a rare breast cancer, others will surely benefit from your selflessness. Fingers firmly crossed for more positive and happy updates xx

Devastated to hear of the baby passing Heidi. It's heart breaking for all those following your story so how you have the strength to press on through is beyond miraculous and inspiring for everyone who is aware of your story. Please keep fighting... No one deserves to experience such sorrow and such hardship. My thoughts are with you and your family in this continued fight. I wish you all the best to come and a warm virtual embrace.

I'm so sorry to hear of your tiny girls passing.
Having just had the "no further problems at the moment" diagnosis from my breast cancer oncologist I feel for you. Chemotherapy is gruelling, radiotherapy is tiring. You made the right decision and gave your baby a chance. Do the best you can to get yourself well. My prayers are with you, your husband and family and a shining New star in God's family. Good Luck with your treatment xxx
